Steel and Bamboo Chopsticks // $12

Perfect for eating on the go or in the forest. These sleek chopsticks collapse for easy storing and even come with their own carrying case.

Why is this a great zero waste gift? Traditional disposable chopsticks can contain harmful chemicals that seep into the wood during a bleaching process to make them look uniform in color. Don’t let someone you love put harmful chemicals into their body.

Perfect for eating on the go. This reusable utensil set is made from bamboo – one of the fastest growing natural resources. And the carrying case it comes in is also made of recycled water bottles!

Why is this a great zero waste gift? Americans alone throw out enough non-biogradable plastic utensils a year to circle the earth 300 times. A reusable set of to-go cutlery helps lessen that statistic.

Bamboo Toothbrush // $4.99

No matter where you are in the world, you gotta brush yo’ teeth. Gift your traveling friend a plastic-free bamboo toothbrush to take along with them wherever they go. They also make great stocking stuffers.

Why is this a great zero waste gift? 4.7 billion plastic toothbrushes are dumped into landfills and oceans every year! This cost-effective present packs a big punch.

Canvas Tote // $10

An extra tote bag is something every traveler should have with them at all times. They’re perfect for a day trip to the beach, hitting the local farmer’s market or great for when you do a little extra shopping and everything can’t fit in your suitcase when traveling back home.

Why is this a great zero waste gift? Plastic shopping bags are non-biodegradable and horrible for the environment. Having your tote made of natural materials insures you’ll never have to use a plastic bag again.

  1. What do you think of, for example, Patagonia selling products made from petroleum byproducts manufactured in China? There’s an incredible amount of pollution generated from transporting the materials and goods such extreme distances, and it supports the oil industry. Surely you should think about all the trash this generates?
